Jaspe: A Classic Revisited

Some things just never go out of style.

Jaspe has been one of our most popular colors for years, and it's an employee favorite here at CocoMats. For good reason, too. Its distinctive mix of colors, inspired by the naturally mottled appearance of jasper stone, gives it a look all its own. It hides everyday dirt remarkably well and looks just as good in a vintage Porsche as it does in a modern daily driver.

A LITTLE JASPE HISTORY

Flip through an issue of Road & Track from the 1970s and there's a good chance you'll come across an advertisement for Vilem B. Haan, Inc., a familiar name in sports car accessories at the time.

Multicolored coconut fiber mats were already around, but Haan saw something special in Jaspe. While other colors were available, Jaspe frequently took center stage in their advertisements. Haan embraced the pattern, offered additional variations, and helped turn it into a favorite among sports car enthusiasts.

Decades later, the look is still going strong. We've carried on that tradition with our own natural coconut fiber CocoMats, keeping a little piece of automotive history alive and well.

WHY WE LOVE JASPE

Take a walk through the CocoMats parking lot and you'll find quite a few Jaspe fans.

Part of the appeal is practical. Natural coconut fiber already does a wonderful job of disguising the dirt, dust, and assorted debris that inevitably find their way onto your car's floor. Jaspe takes it a step further. With its mix of colors, spotting the evidence of a season's worth of driving becomes something of a challenge.

And that's before you even get to how good it looks.

Unlike a solid color, Jaspe has a natural variation that gives the mat a little more character without overwhelming the interior. It works with all sorts of upholstery, whether you're complementing a classic interior or adding some contrast to a newer car.

There's a reason it's remained a favorite after all these years. It's practical, it's distinctive, and it doesn't try too hard.

Take a look at the new Jaspe colors on the COCO PRODUCTS PAGE, or give us a call and we'll be happy to send you some samples. Sometimes you really do need to see the colors in person.
